Now Is The Time To Give Your Life To God
The Spirit of Python
The python is a deadly and sneaky snake. Unlike the water moccasin, Rattlesnake and the king cobra which kills it prey by either injecting or striking leaving poison in it’s victims. The Python is very large (recorded size over 28 ft. and over 300 lbs.) and is very powerful. He can slither along the ground, attack fast and wrap himself around his prey. There are times when its prey is sleeping or weak and without them even knowing python has wrapped his coils around them squeezing them to death. Or he can hang in the highest of trees and release himself just as his prey passes by falling on it, knocking it out. Then python will wrap his self around it and slowly squeeze the breath out of it. You see that is what python does. He takes the breath out of his prey. Every time it’s prey breathes in python tightens his hold, until his prey takes that last breath. Usually the bones of the prey aren’t even broken.
Like the earthly python, the spirit of python is a deadly and sneaky spirit. It will slither through our churches and hang in our rafters, until one of us lets our guard down and walks into his trap. The spirit of python is one of the king demons/spirit. He will wrap his self around you and slowly squeeze the life out of your body. You see that is what he does he takes your life/breath. Every time you try to do anything for God he tightens his hold until you’re out of the present/will of God.
I know that someone is asking where in the bible does God tells us about a python spirit.
(N) God Reveals a Deadly Spirit
God reveals this deadly spirit by name in
(N) Acts 16:16 (KJV)
And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:
Acts 16:17-18: The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.
The translation of the “spirit of divination” according to the Dake’s Annotated Reference Bible, is from the Greek word Apollo Pythius, meaning “python” The spirit of python! Among all the other references of demon possession and deliverance, this is the only spirit that is named in the book of Acts. God knew that python didn’t just want to kill his prey/victim. He wanted to choke the breath out of it.
The Choking of Your Breath
Just like the python in the jungles that kills by choking the breath from its prey, the spirit of python will attempt to constrict your spiritual breath, or your intimate relationship with God.
The Breath of God has significant meaning to our own spiritual breath, so examine with me what the scriptures say about the Breath of God.
(N) Genesis 2:7 (KJV)
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
(N) Ezekiel 37:4-10 (KJV)
Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. 5 Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live: 6 And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD. 7 So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone. 8 And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.
9 Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live. 10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.
(N) 2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV)
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
(N) John 20:21-22 (KJV)
Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
The enemy wants to wrap around our churches and squeeze the breath out of them. Python does not brake the bones of its victims.
Bones in the bible represent structure. The devil isn’t afraid of a church with structure. We can have Men’s meeting, Women’s Meeting, Sunday school classes, and other programs and activities. These things do not attract Python in the least. Nor is the devil afraid of Christians having a form of godliness, as long as there is no breath, anointing, or spirit. I am here to tell you that Satan can care less about our respectability or our financial position, when the spirit of Python wraps itself around our church.
Python is not concerned if you sing, as long as there is no breath or anointing in your worship song. Python is not concerned if you pray, as long as there is no anointing in your prayer. The Spirit of Python is wanting to tie our churches up and choke the anointing out of us. The result of python on some of our churches is the written agendas, some of us call that order. It is really python not letting the church be lead by the Spirit of God. When the Spirit of Python’s head is cut off of our leadership and the congregation, our only agenda now is the move of God. This is when healing, praise, and the gifts of the spirit can flow.
(N) Detecting Python In Your Praise
Is there a tightening upon your spirit when you begin to praise God? Guess what that is the Spirit of Python. Python wants to take our praise because he knows that if praise is in the room the dry places will be filled with water and dead places will have life. In 2 King 3: 11-18 talks about two kings joining forces to fight the king of Moab, but found themselves in big trouble even before the battle.
The first was Jehoram, King of Israel, the son of Ahab and Jezebel. Even though he did not worship idols like his parents, he still had much sin upon him. The other was Jehoshaphat, King of Judah, he was a good man, but probably did not seek the Lord before joining forces with Jehoram. The scriptures said they went to Elisha the prophet of the Lord. Jehoram spoke on their behalf. Elisha knowing who he was said, in verse 13:What have I to do with thee? get thee to the prophets of thy father, and to the prophets of thy mother. As Elisha turned away he notice Jehoshaphat king of Judah. The word Judah in Hebrew means may Jehovah be praised. That is when Elisha said, if it was not for the presence of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, I would not look toward thee, nor see thee. What Elisha said to Jehoram in English is, if it was not for praise in the room, I would not even look at you. I would not even give you the time of day. If it were not for the presence of praise in this room, I would just walk out and leave you on your own to get out of this mess. Praise in the room was why Jehoram got out of his dry place. When our churches are stuck in a dry place we must remember, when the presence of praise is in the room, our Revelation can overcome our situation! Praise is a weapon! Praise is the victory! Praise will make a way out of no way! When we praise in spirit and in truth, other people are listening and may be blessed.
(N) Acts 16:25-26 (KJV) And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.
Do you want deliverance in your home, do you want to loose the spirit of python off your family, your finances, your marriage, if so the Lord must be praised in your home.
(N) Detecting Python in Your Prayer
We need to understand that prayer, along with praise, ushers in the presence of God. Act 16:16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:
Reaching the presence of the Lord is the ultimate goal of your praise life and your prayer life. Python’s main goal is to attack, kill and destroy our goals. We must take God’s Presence home with us when we leave this building.
King David decided to bring God’s presence home by moving the ark of the covenant, but he made the mistake of not obeying God’s Plan on how the ark should be moved. God was displeased when Uzza touched the ark, which resulted in Uzza’s death (1 Chronicles 13:9-10). This made David upset and fearful toward God. (1 Chronicles 13:11-12).
Read 1 Chronicles 13:9-14 (KJV) 9 And when they came unto the threshingfloor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled. 10 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God. 11 And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzza: wherefore that place is called Perezuzza to this day. 12 And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God home to me?
13 So David brought not the ark home to himself to the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite.
Some Christian react just like David, we are so afraid of what we will lose if we take God home with us. A Whole generation has been raised up that does not bring the presence of God home. We come across the threshold of our churches and put on our spiritual suits (Praise the Lord, Glory be to God,) and as we leave we change back into our flesh suit. We would rather kill the spirit of God, rather than killing the spirit of our flesh.
14 And the ark of God remained with the family of Obededom in his house three months. And the LORD blessed the house of Obededom, and all that he had.
If we bring the presence of God home, our children will be affected. If we bring God’s presence home, the atmosphere of our lives will be changed.
The problem is that their isn’t enough of us that are willing to make the necessary sacrifices so that God’s presence will be the central focus of our homes. If our homes change our churches will change, if the churches change our communities will change and so on.
It is time for us as the body of Christ to get our breath back, python has squeezed on us long enough. We need to put praise back in the true temple.
I have heard so many time that when praises go up blessings come down. That maybe true, but we must remember that the enemy wants our breath (worship), he wants our praise, and he wants us not to pray. Point blank the enemy wants to take the relationship that we have with God.
My Question to you is, “are you going to let him?”
